Hi, I'm Lyndsey Wathen, the creative force behind Little Blue Design Co! From my home base in Jefferson, Iowa—a delightful small town that reminds me a lot of Stars Hollow (any Gilmore Girls fans out there?)—I pour my heart into projects that benefit small businesses and our wonderful community.
For over 10 years, I've been helping clients with their visual design needs. More recently, I completed an intensive year-long User Experience (UX) design program, and I'm thrilled to combine my deep visual design background with user-centered principles. This means I'm dedicated to creating digital experiences that aren't just visually appealing, but also intuitive and easy to use. My skills range from logo creation and UX design to social media, print marketing, event collateral, and even event planning.
Life in Jefferson with my husband, Tyler, and our sweet dogs, Goober and Pepper, keeps me grounded. My favorite things include (but aren't limited to!) the color black, a good scoop of ice cream, diving into video games or movies, my faith, and precious time with friends and family.

I grew up drawing and doodling on anything I could, so I'm not surprised I ended up in a creative career! My first graphic design course was my sophomore year of high school and I was hooked. I moved to Ames in 2013 to attend Iowa State University - there I made some of my greatest memories and even better friends! I spent my college years living in an apartment with two of my besties on Little Bluestem Ct, that we affectionately called "Little Blue". That apartment was the first place that felt like "home" after I moved out of my parent's house. So when it was time to create a business to do my freelance work under, it only made sense to call it Little Blue Design Co.
Little Blue was my home, and I hope that my designs can inspire and foster that same feeling with you.
